The Artist...somewhat

My friend Stephanie had posted a few photos on her facebook showing some art work she had painted at a Go Girl Art paint party. I immediately wanted to paint one! They were adorable. So I talked to her and said I want to go to the next party if you have one. She actually got up a group because so many people kept commenting on her photos too. About the only thing I can draw is a stick figure. I was excited to see how this was going to turn out from start to finish.

The blank canvas.

As you walk in you will find a seat and in front of you is the blank canvas and an apron. I'm feeling all artsy already. Lisa, the Go Girl Art lady will walk you through step by step on how to draw and paint. So I'm thinking ok cool, this can't be too hard. I'm still feeling good at this point. She then tells you to pull out your pencil and draw a circle. Hmmmm ok, I think I can do this. Then you will start to draw the pedals. This was a little tougher for me. I wasn't sure at first how big or how small to make them. I'm starting to get a little nervous. I'm looking around at others and her sample so she mentions erasers. YES! I need to erase some and start over. Finally I get my pedals drawn and the painting process begins.


The first paint color was kinda like a primer. Still rockin along and having fun.




Wow, it's beginning to look like a flower! Still unsure and nervous at times of what this is going to look like.

The next step you have to paint is the background. Here you kinda forget to breathe since you are trying so hard to NOT mess up what you just did on your pedals. I've always been good at trim work on walls but this was a little challenging but it all worked out.

After adding a few little swirls here is the final work! Yay me! I was so proud of myself. Even my son was amazed that I did this. So now I have a new hobby!
